Join Portsmouth Naval Shipyard MWR on Friday, July 22 as we see osprey, ox pen, and seabirds on our Falmouth and Freeport Hikes. We will leave at 8 a.m. and head to Wolfe Neck Woods State Park (in Freeport) where a guide will help us view the osprey nesting area on the adjacent island. Then we will head to Bradbury Mountain (in Pownal) for a one mile gradual incline (or .3 mile steeper incline) passing an old cattle pen. The summit promises some great views and time for lunch. Last, we will enjoy Mackworth Island (a bird sanctuary in Falmouth) for a short walk around the island (rated easy). We will return back by 6 p.m.

The cost to participate is $15 for active duty and $20 for all others. The cost includes van transportation and all park admissions.
